By Isaac Eranga
The morning sun broke gently over the horizon, casting a warm glow across the grounds of the seminary. For years, educators and church leaders across the continent had worked tirelessly to raise the standards of theological education, dreaming of a bridge that would seamlessly connect local institutes to the global Christian academic community.
That long-awaited bridge took solid form with a landmark announcement from the Global Partnership for Theological Accreditation & Mission (GPTAM). Established in 2019 and headquartered in South Korea, GPTAM has united over 110 accredited and member institutions across 7 countries spanning Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Founded on the bedrock of biblical integrity, theological excellence, and global mission, the alliance seeks to elevate bible schools, colleges, and seminaries to world-class standards.
At the heart of this new chapter stands Bishop Dr. Sunday Aigbefoh, whose dedication to ministry and academic rigor has earned him a prominent mandate. In a distinguished appointment spanning from 24 July 2026 to 24 July 2029, Bishop Aigbefoh steps into the vital role of International Representative for GPTAM.
In this position, Bishop Aigbefoh serves as a key liaison for institutions across Africa seeking international membership and accreditation. His mission is to guide seminaries, bible colleges, and theological institutes as they align their academic standards with global criteria, ensuring that the next generation of ministers is equipped with biblical clarity and scholarly excellence.
As word of his appointment spread, calls of congratulations and inquiries began pouring in from leaders eager to elevate their institutions. Standing at the threshold of this three-year mandate, Bishop Aigbefoh looks toward a future where theological education across the region shines with renewed strength, firmly rooted in truth and recognized on the world stage.
